Dumfries and Galloway had suffered a miserable early summer with much rain after a very dry spring, which resulted in dramatic hill fires. The day of the show started with great promise. Trade exhibitors, stock exhibitors and the general public supported the show well. However we experienced a dramatic prolonged hail and rain storm which caused local flooding on the showfield and car parks just as the parade was getting started.

The Directors would like to express their thanks to the many stewards and attending members without whom the smooth running of the show would not be possible. The Directors also appreciate the support given by stock, trade exhibitors and sponsors as well as townspeople and the farming community.
