The Show Field, Park Farm, Dumfries, DG2 7LU / First Saturday in August

In 2018 the Show hosted the Scottish National Hereford Show and the Bluefaced Leicester Progney Show.



There were new classes in the sheep section for Kerry Hill and Blue Texel.

Entertainment included Pedal Power v Parkour, a vintage machinery display, a display by Dumfries & Stewarty Foxhounds, Daffy Dill, Douglas The Clown and the Young Farmers Tug O’ War.

*** Entries for dairy cattle, beef cattle, horses, ponies, Clydesdales, sheep and goats are now closed***  Please see below for details on the closing dates for home and garden arts and show jumping.

The home and garden arts schedule including the walking sticks is now available by clicking on download schedule.

The livestock schedule can be found below.  Entries cannot be accepted on line.  They must be on a official entry form and accompanied by the entry fee.  Cheques should be made payable to Dumfries & Lockerbie Agricultural Society. Full details of classes for cattle, horses, sheep and goats and entry fees can be found in the schedule which is available on the link 2018 livestock schedule

***Please note*** due to GDPR the entry form must be signed for the Society to use your data.  Full details can be found in rule 27 of the schedule.

Change of judge – the Highland Pony judge will be Ms Mary McCall Smith, Crieff, Mrs Angela Heginbotham, Kendal will be judging the Mountain & Moorland Ridden classes, Mrs Lyn Black, Glasgow will be judging the Working Hunter Ponies and Ms Audrey Lamb will be judging the Clydesdales.

Mr Mark Little, Langholm will be judging the Cheviots and Mr Robert Rennie, Kelso will be judging the British Berrichon.

Mr Donald Biggar, Castle Douglas will be judging the Aberdeen Angus and Any Other Beef Breed, Mr Malcolm Telfer, Stocksfield will be judging the British Blue and Prime Cattle, Mr Alasdair Houston, Lockerbie will be judging the Charolais, Simmental and Limousins.

Charges for 2018

Trade Stands

  • Stand of up to 30 ft in depth: £7 per foot frontage
  • Stand of 31 to 40 ft in depth: £9 per foot frontage
  • Stand of 41 to 50 ft in depth: £12.00 per foot frontage
  • Stand of 51 to 60 ft in depth: £14 per foot frontage

The minimum charge for a stand up to 15’ x 30’ is £100.00

Our catering is franchised and there are no spaces available.

Food Festival

  • £60 per 8’x8′ space if the application is received on or before 30 June 2018.  £70 per 8’x8′ space if the application is received after this.
  • A 6′ free standing table space is £30 per space.

Craft Tent

  • £30 per space
