Livestock FAQs


Can entries be accepted on the day?

Only unaffiliated show jumping entries can be accepted on the day.  All other livestock entries must be submitted by 4 July 2016.

 

How will I know if my entries have been received?

A receipt will be sent when entries are received.  If you do not receive a receipt please contact the secretary.

 

Do I collect my exhibitor number on the day?

This will be posted to you prior to the show with your instructions and tickets.

 

When can I leave the showfield?

Livestock exhibitors can leave after the grand parade at 2.15pm.

 

Can I collect my prize money on the day?

Prize money can be collected from the secretary’s office on the day for all sections except dairy.  Horse prize money can not be collected until after 3pm.  Prize money will only be issued on the presentation of the prize money card given out by the stewards.

 

 

Home & Garden Arts FAQs


When can exhibits be brought?

They can be brought to the Green Shed between 4pm and 9pm on Thursday 4 August 2016 or between 8am and 10am on Friday 5 August 2016.  Walking stick exhibits can be brought between 8am and 10am on Saturday.

 

When can I collect my exhibits?

Exhibits can be collected from the Green Shed between 4.30pm and 5pm on Saturday.

 

When can I collect my prize money?

Prize money can be collected in the Green Shed between 2pm and 4.30pm on Saturday.

 

 
 

Be Part of Next Years Show

This year the Show will be hosting the Scottish National Hereford Show and the Bluefaced Leicester Progney Show.

 

 

There will also be new classes in the sheep section for Kerry Hill and Blue Texel.

Entertainment will include Pedal Power v Parkour, a vintage machinery display, a display by Dumfries & Stewarty Foxhounds, Daffy Dill, Douglas The Clown and the Young Farmers Tug O’ War.

The schedules for  home and garden arts and livestock are available below.  Please note that the livestock entries close on Monday 2nd July 2018.  The judge for the Highland Ponies is now Ms Mary McCall Smith, Crieff, the Mountain & Moorland working hunter pony judge is Mrs Lyn Black, Glasgow, the Mountain & Moorland Ridden judge is Mrs Angela Heginbotham, Kendal ,  the Clydesdale horse judge is  Ms Audrey Lamb, Wigton, the Cheviot sheep judge is Mr Mark Little, Langholm and the British Berrichon judge is Mr Robert Rennie, Kelso.
